Rockford Aviators News Release

LOVES PARK, IL - The Rockford Aviators, presented by Pearson, wrapped up the season in shut out fashion as they swept the Frontier Greys in a three-game series, winning the final game by a score of 5-0.

Kyle Brueggemann earned his fourth straight win after pitching seven innings and allowing just two hits while walking one and striking out nine batters.

On a night when the wind was howling out to center field, Edgar Corcino cranked his eleventh home run of the year in the bottom of the first inning to give the Aviators a 2-0 lead.

The Aviators tallied two more runs in the bottom of the third inning when Michael Hur scored on a wild pitch by Brandon Rohde and Dusty Robinson recorded a sacrifice fly that scored Corcino from third to put the Aviators up 4-0.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Aviators scored their fifth and final run of the game when Brian Bistagne scored on a errant throw by Michael Vaughn.

With the win, the Aviators will finish the season on a three-game winning streak and a four-game home winning streak. The Aviators finish the 2014 campaign with a 40-56 record.
