Home Playoff Game on the Line for Evansville Otters on Thursday

(WASHINGTON, PENNSYLVANIA) - The Evansville Otters (56-37) finish the Frontier League regular season at the Washington Wild Things (57-38) on Thursday night.

The winner of the game will clinch the #4 seed in the Frontier League and host the loser of the game on Saturday night in the wild card game.

First pitch is set for 6:05 pm CDT at Consol Energy Park in Washington, Pennsylvania.

The game will be broadcast live on WUEV 91.5 FM and WUEV.org . Play by play announcer Mike Radomski will have the call beginning at 5:45 pm CDT.

Evansville will have right-hander Edgar Lopez (1-0, 2.02 ERA) on the mound against Washington righty Matt Sergey (3-0, 1.86 ERA).

The Wild Things swept a doubleheader from the Otters on Tuesday only to see Evansville rebound for a 10-5 win on Wednesday night.

Washington is 58-46 against the Otters all time. Evansville is 5-3 this season against the Wild Things.

The Otters had three players in the Frontier League All-Star game on July 16. 3B Shayne Houck started the contest going 2-for-2. Nik Balog pinch hit and played first base, going 0-for-1 with a walk. Josh Allen finished the night 0-for-2 as a defensive replacement and second baseman.

Otters skipper Andy McCauley is the reigning Frontier League Manager of the Year. Infielder Shayne Houck was the post-season Frontier League All-Star at third base and was also named the Frontier League Most Valuable Player.

Evansville is 24-21 on the road this season.
