
Austin Swingle Trois-Rivieres Athlete of the Month

Aberdeen Wings forward #18 Austin Swingle was named the October Athlete of the Month by Trois-Rivieres Training, LLC.
Swingle trained with Trois-Rivieres during the off-season with Rich Schimenek, Director of Strength & Conditioning. Trois-Rivieres Training facility is built upon the components of sustainability and energy efficiency. Athletes train in an environment built specifically for athletic development. The trainers at the facility are passionate about training and utilize customized training programs to meet the individual's specific needs. The facility houses a full tennis court, rubber floor plyometric area and a synthetic ice rink. The plyometric area is an open area, that has the ability to provide an area for various training programs. The envelope for the synthetic ice rink includes aluminum framed dasher boards, glass and protective netting. The synthetic ice surface provides excellent resistance to strengthen skater's legs during drills.
This season, Swingle has been named assistant captain for his leadership on the ice, in the weight room, and off the ice. Swingle has been training at Trois-Rivieres since his time with the St. Cloud Cathedral Crusaders. In his rookie NAHL year with the Aberdeen Wings, Swingle compiled 6 goals and 3 assists. In just 9 games this season, he has 1 goal and 2 assists.
The Aberdeen Wings have home games this Friday and Saturday at the Odde Ice Center. The Minot Minotauros come into town on Friday for NAHL Central Division action.
