Bears Drop Opening Game to Bismarck
October 12, 2014 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Kenai River Brown Bears News Release
After a hard week of practice the Brown Bears came out putting great pressure on Bismarck, but couldn't capitalize. Through two periods the Bears outshot the Bobcats 17-14, but Bismarck goaltender Alex Bitsakis stood tall through two shutting the Bears out. The Bobcats seemed to make every mistake pay, and led 4-0 after two periods. The Bears finally broke through Bitsakis mid way through the third off a beautiful passing play which led to Jack Gessert's 5th goal of the year (assists from Butcher, Bouvet) However it was to late for the come back and the Bears fell 4-1.
