Cedar Park, TX - San Antonio Spurs assignee Boban Marjanovic recorded a double-double with team-highs of 34 points and 13 rebounds to lead Austin (7-2)to a 137-132 victory against Reno (4-5) Saturday night.
Orlando Johnson posted 25 points for Austin, and Atlanta Hawks assignee Lamar Patterson added 19. For Reno, Vincent Hunter had a double-double with 31 points and 10 rebounds, and Erick Green contributed 22 points.
Austin answered Reno's quick start with an 8-2 run in the first quarter to tie the game at 8-8. They took their first lead of the game with eight minutes left on a layup and free throw by Orlando Johnson, bringing Austin up 13-10 from a 10-10 tie. Austin would outscore Reno 36-28.
Heading into the second, Austin kept the lead for the entire quarter, despite Ricky Ledo posting 15 points for Reno. Austin led at the half 70-59.
Austin maintained their lead through the third quarter. Reno outscored Austin 38-31 led by Cliff Hammonds' 10 points, but still ended the quarter trailing Austin 101-97.
Both teams battled back and forth in the final quarter, resulting in six ties and four lead changes. Austin shot 61.9 percent from the field, outshooting Reno's 48.1 field-goal percentage. With two minutes left, Austin took the lead over Reno 126-125 and retained the lead for the remainder of the contest.
