Bakersfield Jam News Release

EL SEGUNDO - Askia Booker scored a game-high 25 points off the bench and helped the Bakersfield Jam (4-5) defeat the Los Angeles D-Fenders (6-4) 108-103 Saturday night at the Toyota Sports Center.

Both teams shot above 55 percent in the first quarter, but Los Angeles held a slight advantage after one (32-31). After the hot shooting start, the Jam and the D-Fenders cooled down in the second period with Bakersfield this time winning the quarter 24-20 and taking a three-point lead at the break (55-52).

The Jam came out of the locker room sharp on both ends of the floor as they ended the third quarter shooting 52.2 percent from the field and outscored the D-Fenders 33-22. In the final frame, Bakersfield stretched their lead to as many as 16 points, but Los Angeles would battle back to tie the game up at 103 with 51.1 seconds left to play. With a key possession on the line, Terrico White knocked down a three-pointer with 30.8 seconds remaining. White's clutch shot would prove to be huge as his bucket helped seal the road win.

Earl Clark recorded a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. White added 22 points and eight rebounds while Deonte Burton contributed 17 points.

The D-Fenders had six players score in double-figures, led by Vander Blue's 22 points to go along with five assists. Malcolm Thomas posted a double-double with 20 points and 11 rebounds while Josh Magette finished with 15 points and seven assists.

The Jam will return home and host the Oklahoma City Blue on Tueday, December 8 at 7:00 p.m. PT.
