CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Austin Spurs (2-3), presented by SWBC, defeated the Stockton Kings (2-3) by a final score of 108-99 for the team's first home win of the season at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Sunday afternoon.

San Antonio Spurs assignee Chimezie Metu recorded his first double-double with Austin this season as he finished as the high scorer for the Spurs with 23 points (10-15 FG, 1-2 3FG) to go along with 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals in 31 minutes, while Spurs assignee Luka Šamanić finished with 14 points (4-8 FG, 1-2 3FG, 3-3 FT) and 8 rebounds in 24 minutes. Spurs assignee Keldon Johnson contributed 13 points and 9 rebounds in 30 minutes.

The game stayed close during the first quarter, but the Spurs outscored the Kings 32-18 in the second. As a team, the Spurs shot .526 (10-19) from the field, .500 (3-6) from the three-point line and a perfect 1.00 (5-5) from the free throw line in the quarter. The team went into the half leading 65-46.

The Spurs led by as many as 24 in the third and 26 in the fourth. Kavion Pippen, who recorded 12 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in 13 minutes, drained a three at the buzzer to end the third quarter. The Kings finished the game on a 16-5 run, bringing the lead down to nine points, the closest the game had been since the first half. Although the Kings outscored the Spurs 53 to 43 in the second half, it was not enough to overcome their first half deficit, allowing the Spurs to come away with a 108-99 victory.

For the Kings, Kyle Guy led the way, posting 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists in 44 minutes, while Eric Mika finished with a double-double posting 25 points and 13 rebounds.
