El Segundo, CA - The Los Angeles Kings (NHL) today announced that center Jason Allison, center Eric Belanger and left wing Erik Rasmussen have been activated from the injured reserve list. Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor made the announcement. The Kings also today assigned forwards Jared Aulin, Michael Cammalleri and Jerred Smithson to the Manchester Monarchs (AHL). To make room for the incoming Monarchs players, the AHL club today assigned forward Jeff Giuliano and defenseman Chris Bogas to the Reading Royals (ECHL). Allison, 27, has missed the last eight Kings games after aggravating a sprained right knee during the Kings-Chicago Blackhawks game on Sunday, December 22 at the United Center in Chicago, IL. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound native of North York, Ontario, originally injured the MCL ligament of his right knee during the Kings-Atlanta Thrashers game on Tuesday, October 29 at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA. In 18 games this season with the Kings, Allison has recorded five goals, 19 assists, 24 points and 18 penalty minutes. The Kings acquired Allison and forward Mikko Eloranta from the Boston Bruins (NHL) for forwards Glen Murray and Jozef Stumpel on Oct. 24, 2001.

Belanger, 25, has missed the last six Kings games with a back strain. In 35 games for the Kings this season, he has nine goals, 12 assists, 21 points and 12 penalty minutes with his nine goals tying a career-high. The 6-foot-0, 185-pound native of Sherbrooke, Quebec, was originally selected by the Kings in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft.

Rasmussen, 25, has missed the last six Kings games with a back strain. In 31 games for the Kings this season, he has three goals, eight assists, 11 points and 14 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 207-pound native of Minneapolis, MN, was acquired by the Kings on July 24, 2002 from the Buffalo Sabres (NHL) for forward Adam Mair and a fifth round selection in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. Aulin, 20, was on recall with the Kings since Saturday, December 28. In seven games with the Kings this season, the centerman has one assist and a minus-1 rating. Aulin's most recent recall stint lasted six games, and he scored his first NHL point with an assist vs. the Dallas Stars (NHL) at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX, on Tuesday, January 7. The 6-foot-0, 192-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, was also called-up by the Kings on Sunday, December 15, and he made his NHL debut against the St. Louis Blues (NHL) at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, CA on Tuesday, December 17. In 30 games with the Monarchs this season, Aulin, who was named a 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star last week, has seven goals, 21 assists, 28 points, 17 penalty minutes and a plus-2 rating. Aulin was the player to be named later in a February 21, 2001 trade that sent forward Adam Deadmarsh, defenseman Aaron Miller and a first round draft choice to the Kings from the Colorado Avalanche (NHL) for defenseman Rob Blake and forward Steve Reinprecht. Aulin, selected by the Avalanche in the second round (47th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, will wear jersey number 31.

Cammalleri, 20, was on recall with the Kings since Thursday, November 7. In 26 games with the Kings, the Richmond Hill, Ontario, native has five goals, three assists, eight points, 18 penalty minutes and minus-3 rating. Cammalleri, a second round (49th overall) pick of the Kings in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, earned his call-up with the Kings after collecting four goals, 10 assists and 14 points in nine games with the Monarchs. Cammalleri made his NHL debut at the Kings-Ottawa Senators (NHL) game on Friday, November 8 at the Corel Center in Ottawa, Ontario, where he recorded an assist. The 5-foot-9, 188-pound centerman will wear jersey number 13.

Smithson, 23, was on recall with the Kings since Friday, December 27. In four games with the Kings, Smithson registered no points and a minus-3 rating. Smithson, listed as a 6-foot-2, 200-pound forward, made his NHL Debut on Sunday, December 29 vs. the Avalanche. In 17 games with the Monarchs this season, he has one goal, 11 assists, 12 points, 31 penalty minutes and a plus-6 rating. Born in Vernon, British Columbia, Smithson will wear jersey number 25.

Giuliano, 23, was on recall with the Monarchs since Saturday, December 28. The Nashua, NH, native collected one assist and a plus-2 rating in the five games he appeared in during his second stint with the Monarchs this season. Giuliano also appeared in three games for the Monarchs from November 5 to November 14, scoring one goal, one assist and two points while registering a plus-1 rating. In eight total games with the Monarchs this season, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound left wing has one goal, two assists, three points and a plus-3 rating. In 33 games with the Royals, Giuliano, a graduate of Boston College, has seven goals, 20 assists and 27 points.

Bogas, 26, was on recall with the Monarchs since Sunday, December 29. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound defenseman registered one goal, six penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating in his four-game stint with the Monarchs, and his one goal was the game-winner in the Monarchs 5-1 victory over the Lowell Lock Monsters on Tuesday, December 31. Born in Cleveland Heights, OH, Bogas returns to the Royals where he has four goals, five assists, nine points and 42 penalty minutes in 25 games.

Aulin, Cammalleri and Smithson are expected to be in the lineup when the Monarchs return home to host the Springfield Falcons on Friday, January 10 at 7:35 p.m. Only single seats in the Gold and Silver sections of the Verizon Wireless Arena remain for Friday's game.
