Wolves Make Dream Come True for Glen Ellyn Native

January 9, 2003 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release

The Chicago Wolves will join together with the Starlight Children¹s Foundation to grant the wish of a Glen Ellyn native on Sun., Jan. 12. The young lady will attend the contest against the Syracuse Crunch to get a look at the behind-the-scenes action of a Wolves game.

The teen-ager, who will be celebrating her 16th birthday with family and friends at Sunday's game, will watch the loading of the pyrotechnics and the hanging of dasher boards before the game, visit the press room and help pick music for the game.

The local teen, who has cerebral palsy, became interested in the Wolves through an association with Wolves Senior Art Director Don McLelland, who let the young lady assist him in airbrushing the goalie masks he designs and creates.

Starlight Children's Foundation is a charitable organization that enriches the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families through programs that provide fun, respite and a sense of community. The Midwest chapter focuses on services within the four-state region of Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana. The Wolves are also raising money to benefit the Foundation by auctioning and raffling college-themed jerseys worn by the team at home games on Wed., Jan. 8; Sat., Jan. 11; and Sun., Jan. 12.
