Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack will to snap a mini two game losing skid tonight when they travel to London to take on the Memorial Cup Host Knights. The Attack is coming off a 6-3 loss to the Guelph Storm on Monday night and will look to rebound tonight in the Forest City.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams since "the trade" that sent Gemel Smith to the Knights in exchange for Kyle Platzer and Santino Centorame. In 19 games with the Attack, Kyle Platzer has 11 goals and 5 assists, while Santino Centorame has 1 goal and 6 assists. In 21 games with the Knights, Gemel Smith has 7 goals and 12 assists.
Owen Sound comes into Friday's game five points ahead of the Plymouth Whalers for 7th place in the Western Conference and four points back of the Spirit for 6th.
The Attack will be without Jaden Lindo as he recovers from an undisclosed injury while Tyler MacArthur will be a game time decision.
Owen Sound @ London:
The 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup Hosts are rolling and just at the right time. The Knights have won eight games in a row and sit 3rd in the Western Conference with 91 points, 1 point ahead of the Erie Otters and six points behind the Guelph Storm for the Conference and MidWest Division lead.
London has been without #1 goaltender Anthony Stolarz since suffering a nasty gash in his leg courtesy of a skate, however; word is close to a possible return, but it won't be in time for tonight. Jake Patterson is likely to get the nod in net and he has struggled through most of February, posting a 3.65 GAA and .865 save percentage, although he has picked up the ever important wins going 9-1.
The Knights have six players in their lineup who have 20 or more goals and six players who are averaging a point per game.
Look Out For: Nikita Zadorov has been an absolute beast for the Knights since returning from the Sabres. The 6'5, 230lb smooth skating Russian has tallied 28 points in 29 games and is a +23.
Game time tonight is 7:00pm on Rogers Sportsnet or you can listen live to Fred Wallace on Kia of Owen Sound/Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio on 560 CFOS.
