Belleville Bulls News Release

KINGSTON, ON - When the Bulls and Kingston Frontenacs have faced off this season, seven combined goals has been considered a low scoring game. Both clubs have opened things up and put high speed offense on display in past encounters with Kingston's sensational sophomores Sam Bennett and Spencer Watson dueling it out against Cameron Brace and Remi Elie.

Bennett and Watson have both tallied 7 goals and 4 assists in 6 games against Belleville this season while Brace has 5 goals and 9 assists in 5 tilts against Kingston. Offense has been the name of the game as goaltenders on both sides have faced quality scoring chances and odd-man rushes throughout the season.

19-35-3-3 through 60 games, the Bulls trail the Ottawa 67's by four points for the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference. Despite being 5-3-1-1 over their past ten games, the Bulls still trail in their playoff chase, one that took a hit on Wednesday in a 3-2 overtime loss to the 67's.

The Bulls have played to a 2-3-1-0 mark against Kingston on the season, with the last win coming on December 29th by a score of 9-6. The Frontenacs have lost their last two games, a pair against the Oshawa Generals by scores of 3-2 and 7-2. Kingston is in the midst of a stretch of seven straight games against East Division opponents.

Kingston is currently on a mission to secure home ice advantage in the playoffs. Sitting fourth in the Eastern Conference, they trail North Bay by two points and hold a three point edge over fifth placed Barrie, their potential first round opponent.

Aaron Berisha and Stephen Harper continue to do a tremendous job in a defensive role with a few men down on the back end. Chad Heffernan and Mark Raycroft slotted back into the Belleville lineup on Wednesday and blueliner Adam Bignell is working towards a return.

The Bulls try and keep their playoff hopes alive this weekend as the Frontenacs make a return trip to the Yardmen on Saturday night to cap off the home and home. It's Military Appreciation Night in Kingston as the Bulls try and hunt down a much needed two points. The puck drops at 7:00pm.

Tune into AM 800 CJBQ for pre-game coverage at 6:50pm with Bulls play-by-play voice Jack Miller and be sure to follow the Bulls Twitter feed (@OHLBulls) for full game details!
