Attack Take to Road
October 30, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Owen Sound Attack News Release
The Owen Sound Attack are set to hit the highway for a trip across the border this weekend.
The Attack are off to Michigan for their first extended road trip of the year with stops in Saginaw and Flint on Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31 respectively.
Friday night's game against the Spirit will mark the first contest of the year between the Attack and Saginaw. In 2014-15, the inter-division rivalry saw Owen Sound win two of a possible four points, with both sides retaining home ice advantage in the season series.
When the puck drops at 7:05pm on Friday night the Spirit will be protecting a 5-6-1-1 record - good for 3rd in the Western Division - while the Attack look to bounce back from a loss on Wednesday night and improve their current standing of 7-5-1-1.
The Spirit will be shorthanded for the game, as leading scorer Dylan Sadowy is set to serve the 2nd of a four game suspension.
Leading Owen Sound into the tilt, like he has all year, is defenceman Santino Centorame who still sits at four goals and nine assists in fourteen games. Forward Ethan Szypula is fresh off of a three point outing against the Erie Otters and now has 11 points thanks to six goals and five assists on the season.
Following Friday's game the Attack will then turn their attention to a Halloween matinee in Flint against the Firebirds on Saturday.
The 2:00pm game will mark Owen Sound's first trip to the Dort Financial Center despite being the 3rd meeting between the teams already this year.
The Attack currently lead the season series, having won both contests at home already this year.
While Saginaw is off on Thursday night, the Firebirds played in Windsor on Thursday night in a game that saw them fall 3-0.
Both games this weekend can be listened to live on 560 CFOS Kia of Owen Sound Terry's Trailer Service Bear Radio.
The Weekend Preview is brought to you by Joe Tomato's, located next to the Galaxy Cinema on the Sunset Strip. Bring your Attack tickets to Joe Tomato's following every home game for half off wings and appetizers.
