67's Hounded Without Konecny in Lineup

October 30, 2015 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's were without captain Travis Konecny during Friday night's game in Sault Ste. Marie against the Greyhounds and likely could have used his scoring touch in the later stages of the match.

After erasing a 2-0 deficit with back-to-back counters by Jeremiah Addison and Artur Tyanulin in the third, Ottawa saw that comeback effort evaporate soon after and eventually fell in a 5-2 decision.

Winger Zach Senyshyn beat Ottawa goalie Leo Lazarev less than two minutes after Tyanulin had tied the game, Boris Katchouk padded the Soo lead with six minutes remaining, then Senyshyn scored into an empty net to seal it for the Greyhounds.

Konecny, tied with Erie's Alex DeBrincat for the scoring lead in the Ontario Hockey League with 23 points, suffered an upper-body injury during Thursday's overtime loss in North Bay and is listed by the team as day-to-day.

The 67's complete its northern road trip on Sunday in Sudbury before returning to Ottawa.

The next 67's home game is Wednesday, November 4 at Canadian Tire Centre against the Kingston Frontenacs in the annual School Day Game. Face-off is at 10:30 a.m.

Ottawa returns to TD Place on Friday, November 6 at 7 p.m. against the Kitchener Rangers.

Tickets are available at the 67's website, or by calling 613-232-6767, ext. 1.
