Saginaw Spirit News Release
SAGINAW, MI - The Saginaw Spirit look to win their fourth in their last five games this evening at The Dow Event Center as they welcome the Owen Sound Attack (7-5-1-1, 4th Midwest)
The Spirit are coming off of a 5-3 win on Wednesday morning against their arch-rival, the Flint Firebirds. Matthew Kreis lead the Spirit with two goals and two assists. Kreis has four goals in his past two games.
The Owen Sound Attack are coming off of a 7-3 loss at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre to the 1st place Erie Otters on Wednesday. Ethan Szypula had two goals and an assist for the Attack. Michael McNiven was pulled from the hockey game after surrendering four goals to the Otters in the first 17-plus minutes of the game. Though Owen Sound is two games above the .500 mark, they trail Erie, Kitchener, and London in the highly-competitive Midwest Division.
The Spirit and Attack split a two-game regular season series in 2014-15, with both teams winning at their respective home rinks.
Tonight is United Way of Saginaw Night. Come to the game dressed in your Halloween costume. There will be candy and activities in the Blue Line Club at 5:30pm. Children will be invited to partake in a Halloween parade on the ice during the first intermission.
