Atlanta United Celebrates Second Annual Salute Our Troops Initiative

ATLANTA - Atlanta United began its second annual Salute Our Troops initiative sponsored by Envistacom this week with a base visit to Fort Gordon that included two youth soccer clinics and will conclude with Saturday's Aug. 3 Military Appreciation Match against the Los Angeles Galaxy at Mercedes-Benz Stadium (5 p.m. ET, FOX). There will be a special Golden Spike moment as the club "Welcomes Home" a soldier returning from deployment to surprise her seven-year-old son. Cultivated from a shared commitment and passion for serving the military community, Atlanta United and Envistacom provide outreach programs designed to support active and deployed military personnel, veterans and their families.

Fort Gordon Base Visit and Soccer Camp (Sunday, July 28, 2019)

Atlanta United traveled to Augusta, GA to put on two youth soccer clinics for children of military families at the Fort Gordon Army Base to kick-off the club's Salute Our Troops platform. The clinics included a visit by Atlanta United players Brendan Moore and Mikey Ambrose and instruction by the club's professionally trained coaches.

Stars, Stripes & Soccer Cup (Friday, Aug. 2 - Saturday, Aug. 3)

Atlanta United will be hosting military service men and women from installations all across Georgia to compete in the first annual Stars, Stripes and Soccer Cup at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019. Following the tournament, the teams will head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to be guests of honor when Atlanta United faces off against LA Galaxy. The teams will hold the field flag during the pre-game processional and be VIP guests for the match. Friday night the club will welcome these soldiers to Atlanta with a dinner and an impactful guest speaker from the Congressional Medal of Honor Society that will share his story of valor. VIP guests include AMB Group CEO Steve Cannon and Atlanta United President Darren Eales.

* Kings Bay Submarine Base (Navy) - Camden County, GA

TAPS Families (Saturday, Aug. 3)

Atlanta United will be hosting five families from Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) at the Aug. 3 Military Appreciation Match. A child from each family will participate as a player escort, standing with the starting XI during the National Anthem.

Military Appreciation Match Ticket Pack

As a small token of appreciation, Atlanta United is offering a Military Appreciation Ticket Pack to help celebrate our military members at the Aug. 3 match. Camo Collection

Atlanta United is launching a line of retail products during the month of August. The Camo Collection pays tribute to and supports the Atlanta United community who have served, currently serve, have friends/family who serve or have served. Products included in the Camo Collection are Camo Pre-Match Top, Camo Scarf of the Month, Camo hats, and Military inspired Dog Tags. A portion of the proceeds from Dog Tags purchases will benefit the Veterans Empowerment Organization "VEO". In addition, the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation's will make a matching donation. The Camo Collection can be purchased at any Official Team Store.
