New England Revolution News Release
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The New England Revolution (9-8-6, 33 pts.) will look to extend an 11-game unbeaten streak when the club continues its homestand against Supporters' Shield-leading Los Angeles FC (15-3-4, 49 pts.), on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Gillette Stadium. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET, televised locally on NBC Sports Boston with Brad Feldman, Paul Mariner, and Naoko Funayama calling the action. Authenticated subscribers may also stream the match on NBCSportsBoston.com and on the NBC Sports app. The match airs on the radio both locally and nationally with 98.5 The Sports Hub and SiriusXM FC Channel 157 broadcasting the action in English, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio providing Portuguese commentary.
In search of a club-record 12th straight regular season game without a loss, the Revolution enter the showdown with LAFC following last Saturday's 4-1 win against Orlando City SC. The win featured four different goal scorers, including Gustavo Bou's second MLS strike in as many home games. Midfielder and captain Carles Gil finished the month of July as one of the league's most productive players with four goals and four assists in the month, including an active four-game scoring streak heading into Saturday. The Newcomer of the Year candidate has one goal and one assist in each of the last three games -- only one game shy of the all-time league record.
With a win on Saturday, the Revolution would secure a four-game winning streak for the first time since 2015. New England remains unbeaten against Western Conference opposition this season with a 6-0-2 mark, and has been resolute defensively of late with only nine goals allowed in 11 games, the best in MLS since the streak began in May. Goalkeeper Matt Turner has played a pivotal role with nine starts during the run, including a career-high seven saves in each of the last two matches. Turner's recent form has propelled him into the league's top five in goals against average (1.14) and save percentage (72.7 percent).
Following Saturday's match, New England will face another Western Conference foe in Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, Aug. 10 at CenturyLink Field. The match kicks off at 4:00 p.m. ET and will air on NBC Sports Boston, 98.5 The Sports Hub, and 1260 AM Nossa Radio.
