Arizona's Schlemko Named to Southern Conference All-Star Team

January 14, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

The Central Hockey League (CHL) announced today that Arizona defenseman David Schlemko has been named to the Southern Conference roster for the CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colorado scheduled for next week. It will be his first all-star appearance.

Schlemko will replace teammate Sean Sullivan who will be unable to participate in the game because he is currently on re-call with the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. Sullivan has 25 points (9-16=25) in 22 games with the Sundogs and was voted to be a starter in the game for the South team.

The 20-year-old Schlemko becomes the youngest player in the all-star game. In 34 games with the Sundogs he has recorded 25 points (7-18=25) and has helped Arizona to one of the best records in the Southern Conference with a 20-10-4 record.

Replacing Sullivan in the starting line-up will be Austin defenseman Jason Tessier who was previously named a reserve for the Southern Conference by All-Star Head Coach Marco Pietroniro (Arizona). The veteran defenseman has 20 points (8-12=20) in 32 games this season with the Ice Bats.

The 2008 CHL All-Star Game will take place at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colorado, home of the Rocky Mountain Rage, on Wednesday, January 16th. The game can be seen LIVE on the CHL Network with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM (MST).
