Argonauts tie-up Bo Lewis

Mississauga - The Toronto Argonauts Football Club is pleased to announce that defensive back Derrick "Bo" Lewis has signed a practice roster agreement with the team.

Lewis played most of his CFL career with the BC Lions where he was respected as a great player and colourful locker room personality. The Lions released the 8-year CFL veteran in January 2005 and he later attended training camp with Ottawa before being released near the end of camp.

The Toronto Argonauts have also released WR Lal Knight from the practice roster.

5'10, 180 lbs.

Jackson State

2005: Released by BC on January 27 and signed with Ottawa...Attended training camp with the Renegades and released on June 1.

2004: Re-signed with BC on February 4...Recorded 24 DT, 2 QB sacks, 18 ST tackles, 2 passes knocked down, 1 INT and 2 fumble recoveries.

2003: Played in 12 games and recorded 33 DT and a sack before being injured.

2002: Recorded a career-high 48 DT...Named CFL Defensive Player of the Week in Week 7 vs Winnipeg...Named West Division All-Star.

2001: Tied for second on the team in interceptions...Recorded 45 DT and had consecutive interception games vs Saskatchewan and Calgary in September.

2000: Played in 17 games for the Lions...Won Grey Cup with Lions.

1999: Started in 18 games...Recorded a 61-yard INT TD vs Calgary to win game (15/07/99).

1998: Spent time with the Tennessee Oilers (NFL) and was released mid-season...Signed as a free agent with the BC Lions midway through the season and played 6 games...Made 4 DT in West Championship.

College: Finished career at Jackson State with 186 DT and 10 INT...Named ESPN/Sportsticker Division I-AA as First Team All-Southwestern Conference as a senior.

Personal: Started playing football at the age of 9. Also played baseball and the tromobone before focusing on football. Lewis spends his free time with his wife Lamesha and three children, Malik, Megan and Derrick Jr.
