Toronto Argonauts News Release

Toronto - It's Fan Appreciation Night at the Argonauts' 2013 regular season finale this Friday, November 1 at 7:00 p.m. against division rival Montreal Alouettes. Presented by Celebrity Cruises, the game will be packed with great giveaways, contests and other fan-first promotions.

Locked firmly in first place and winners of two straight games, the Argonauts are poised for another deep post-season run. This week's edition of Argos Football, presented by Desjardins, will feature some of tomorrow's stars today as celebrated quarterback Zach Collaros, who led the team to four straight come-from-behind victories earlier this year, will once again take the helm of the Double Blue.

In a one of a kind event, the Argonauts have partnered with the Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC) and Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) to welcome 100 new Canadians on Friday night as they take their Oath of Citizenship on the field pre-game. Thousands of Argos fans in attendance will also be asked to reaffirm their own citizenship from the stands. Canadian Football Hall of Fame Quarterback and Officer of the Order of Canada, Russ Jackson, will officiate the largest community citizenship ceremony ever to be held at a Canadian sporting event.

Halftime entertainment will be provided by Celebrity Cruises as sensational rock vocalists, the Tenors of Rock, come to Toronto all the way from the United Kingdom, and one lucky fan will win a 7-Night Eastern Caribbean Cruise on board the luxurious Celebrity Reflection as part of the Argos Fan Cruise!

This week's game is for the fans! Thanks to an online vote held earlier this week, the home team will sport their traditional home blue jerseys, but fans voted and their Argos heroes will pair their jerseys with blue pants instead of the white pants they normally wear for games at Rogers Centre. Fans have also been joining contests all week long for a chance run onto the field during player introductions alongside an Argonauts player. Music played during the game will be requested by the fans, fan-focused videos will appear on the videoboard, 20,000 fans at the game will receive a miniature Canadian flag and one CFL fan who renews their season tickets for 2014 will have a chance to win a brand new Nissan Juke as well a trip to the 102nd Grey Cup in Vancouver!

The recipient of the night's 50/50 will be the YMCA of Greater Toronto, and Marc Angelo Foods will again be selling sausages outside Gate 11 pre-game.

The Argonauts will celebrate their Champion of Change initiative as part of the award-winning Huddle Up Bullying Prevention Program, presented by Tim Hortons. At each home game, the Argos recognize student champions who make a difference in their school or community through acts of kindness, tolerance, and respect for others.

Fans are invited to join Argos players and members of the Argos Cheerleaders, presented by the Toronto Sun, at the Official Post-Game Party at Shoeless Joe's Sports Grill at 276 King Street West, for special food and drink deals!
