Alouettes sign punter Burke Dales

Montreal, October 30, 2013 - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Wednesday that the club has added non-import punter Burke Dales to the team's roster.

Dales (6'3", 225 lbs.) signed with the Edmonton Eskimos as a free agent in February 2012 and played in nine games last season, kicking 58 punts for 2,739 yards, maintaining an average of 47.2 yards per punt while adding six singles. Dales returns to Montreal after having played his CIS football at Concordia University with the Stingers.

The nine-year CFL veteran began his career in Calgary, signing as a free agent in 2005. In seven seasons with the Stampeders, the Collingwood, ON native kicked 757 punts for 34,522 yards, averaging 45.6-yard per punt.

Dales also won the Grey Cup with Calgary in 2008 in addition to being named a four-time CFL West Division All-Star (2006, 2009, 2010, 2011), a two-time CFL All-Star (2010 and 2011) and the West Division's most outstanding special teams player in 2010.
