Beloit Sky Carp News Release
PEORIA, IL - The Beloit Snappers (20-20) pitched a team shutout and got late insurance on a bases-clearing triple from Ricky Aracena to secure a 5-0 win over the Peoria Chiefs (16-24).
The Snappers plated a run in the top of the fourth inning on a sac fly from Nic Ready, scoring Troy Johnston. In a 1-0 game, Peoria loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the fifth. Beloit turned a 6-4-3 double-play to get out of the inning without giving up a run.
Still up 1-0 in the seventh, Beloit loaded the bases for themselves and Aracena came to the plate. He roped a triple off the wall in right field to empty the bases. Kameron Misner would drive Aracena in to complete the four-run inning and give Beloit a 5-0 win.
