The awards keep coming for Goldeyes outfielder Jimmy Hurst.
Just days after picking up the Rawlings Player of the Month for May, he was named today as the Rawlings Player of the Week for May 29 to June 4.
In seven games, Hurst batted .320 with four home runs and 13 runs batted in. He also scored seven runs, banged out a double and drew six walks. His slugging percentage was .840 and his on-base percentage was .452 for a monstrous OPS of 1.292.
Entering action tonight in Calgary, Hurst was hitting .368 with six home runs and 24 RBI. His home run and RBI totals lead the league while his batting average is good for third. He has also reached base safely in all 16 of Winnipeg's games.
