Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Colorado Eagles defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-3 Saturday night at Maverik Center before 6,527 fans; the Grizzlies largest crowd since opening night.

Nine of the eleven games this year between Utah and Colorado have now been decided by a goal. The two teams will meet for the 12th time on the year Monday at Maverik Center. It is Maverik Monday and fans can buy one ticket and get one free with a Maverik Adventure Club Card.

The Grizzlies got off to a quick start with two goals 5:45 apart starting 5:01 into the game as they got goals from Alex Krushelnyski and Brent Gwidt. However, Colorado quickly countered to tie the game at two.

Utah made it 3-2 14:16 into the second period as Jacob Johnston threw in a shot through traffic for his fifth goal of the year. The Eagles once again countered with two goals in 28 seconds in the final 51 seconds of the second period and that would do it for the scoring.

The Grizzlies came out strong in the third and got some good chances, including one power-play, but they were unable to tie.
