Angels Recall Rodriguez, Option Bulger To Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY - The Angels announced today that the club has recalled infielder Sean Rodriguez from the Salt Lake Bees and optioned right-handed pitcher Jason Bulger to Salt Lake. These announcements were made by club General Manager Tony Reagins.

Rodriguez, 22, hit .333 in 13 games with 11 RBI, 5 doubles and 4 home runs for Salt Lake. His first appearance with the Angels will be his major league debut. The Miami, Fla. native was rated as the Angels eighth best prospect in 2007 after being named the organization's Minor League Player of the Year in 2006.

Bulger, 29, pitched in four games for the Halos in 2008, owning a 9.64 ERA with five strike outs. A native of Lawrenceville, Ga., the right-hander tossed in 49 games for the Bees in 2007 and was 5-2 with a 3.76 ERA (52.2 IP, 51 H, 24 R, 22 ER, 4 HR, 81 SO, 1 BK). His contract was then selected by the Angels on September 1 and he finished the year 0-0 with a 2.84 ERA (6.1 IP, 2 ER) in six games.
