
Albuquerque sweeps Redbirds

Memphis, Tenn. - Albuquerque utilized the big inning for the third straight day to complete a series sweep of Memphis with a 5-3 win Friday night at AutoZone Park.
The Isotopes scored five runs on six hits in the sixth inning to take the lead. John Gall, Jason Wood and John Baker all knocked in runs with singles before Chase Lambin capped the rally with a two-run homer to right field. Gall and Baker each finished the night with two hits. Eulogio De La Cruz earned the win with six strong innings. The right-hander punched out six and allowed one run on five hits.
Cliff Politte took the loss for the Redbirds after giving up five runs on six hits in one inning. Hugo Castellanos started for the âBirds and twirled five scoreless frames. Colby Rasmus and Cody Haerther each chipped in two hits each with Rasmus knocking in a run.
Memphis finishes their first homestand 2-6 on a five-game losing streak. The team visits Round Rock tomorrow night and will send right-hander Mike Parisi to the hill. The Express will counter with lefty Josh Muecke. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. at The Dell Diamond.
