
RHP Paulk Assigned to Double-A

Metairie, LA - The New York Mets have sent Zephyrs right-handed relief pitcher Robert Paulk to Double-A Binghamton, it was announced today.
Paulk, 27, started the season with the Zephyrs and appeared in four games and 5.1 innings, recording a 3.38 ERA.
Paulk also spent some time with the Zephyrs in 2007, appearing in two games in relief with an 8.10 ERA in 3.1 innings of play.
Paulk played in 34 games for the Binghamton Mets last season, registering a 2-5 record with a 4.12 ERA.
Paulk came to the Mets via the 2002 draft, where he was selected in the 24th round.
Paulk's roster spot on the Zephyrs will likely be taken by RHP Claudio Vargas, who was claimed off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers but is currently conditioning in Extended Spring Training in Port St. Lucie, FL.
