Rome, GA - Rome Braves shortstop Elvis Andrus has been named to the 2006 South Atlantic League All-Star team as a utility infielder. Andrus has put together an outstanding first half of the season hitting .281 with 32 RBI and is third in the league with a .948 fielding percentage. He joins Manager Randy Ingle, Pitching Coach Jim Czajkowski, Hitting Coach Bobby Moore, Trainer Greg Hall, and players Eric Campbell, Max Ramirez, Isaiah Ka'aihue, Chris Vines, and Jo Jo Reyes as part of this year's team. The game will be played in East Lake, Ohio on Tuesday June 20th and televised on CSS.

Upcoming Home Stand: Rome returns home and entertains the Columbus Catfish at State Mutual Stadium beginning Friday for three games.

Friday - Reese's "Really Nuts" sampling night. Game at 7pm. Saturday - Parrot Head Paradise Night! A1A, the "Official Jimmy Buffet Cover Band," will entertain fans before and after the game. Players will be wearing special jerseys that will be auctioned during the game to benefit the Miracle Field of Rome. Presented by Blood Assurance and K98 Radio with first pitch at 7pm. Sunday - Rome News Tribune Family Day with special giveaways, an autograph session beginning at 12:15, and first pitch at 2pm.
