SAVANNAH, Ga. - Scott Schade's walk-off home run in the 10th inning led the Savannah Sand Gnats to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Catfish Wednesday night at Historic Grayson Stadium. The homer was Schade's first of the year as a member of the Gnats.

Savannah's Craig Stammen pitched well in the start, but was stuck with a no-decision. Stammen allowed just one run on three hits and a walk with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Juan de los Santos picked up his first win of the season, throwing three innings of scoreless relief.

The Gnats jumped out to an early lead, scoring one run in the fourth when Leonard Davis ripped a single up the middle to score Brian Peacock from second base. Davis finished the game 3-for-4.

Savannah added another run in the fifth when Edgardo Baez took James McDonald deep over the left-field wall for his first home run as a Sand Gnat this year. The solo shot accounted for his 10th RBI this season.

The Catfish got one run back in the sixth with a sacrifice fly and tied the game in the seventh on an RBI single off the bat of Tony Harper.

Wednesday's contest was the sixth extra-inning game for the Sand Gnats this year and they improved their record in those games to an even 3-3.

The Sand Gnats and Catfish wrap up the series with a doubleheader Thursday starting at 5:05 p.m. Carlos Martinez and John Lannan will take the hill for Savannah while Marlon Arias and David Pfeiffer are expected to start for Columbus. Tomorrow is a Thirsty Thursday game where fans can enjoy $1 slices of Papa John's pizza and half-priced beers and Cokes in addition to a free post-game concert by The Fundamentals.
