Anderson Transferred to Trenton, Betances to D.L.

(TRENTON, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that RHP Brian Anderson has been transferred to the Thunder roster from Class A Short Season Staten Island. In a corresponding move, RHP Dellin Betances has been added to the Disabled List, retroactive to April 11.

Participating as a pitcher in professional baseball for the first time, Anderson spent the entire 2010 season in the Kansas City Royals organization, making appearances at Triple A Omaha, Class A Burlington and for the Arizona League Royals. The Tucson, Arizona, native spent the first seven seasons (2003-2009) of his career as an outfielder in the Chicago White Sox and Boston Red Sox organizations, appearing in 355 Major League games. Anderson was signed as a Minor League Free Agent by the Yankees in December of 2010.

Betances (0-1, 1.93) made his first start of the 2011 season in New Hampshire on April 10 where he lasted 4.2 innings against the Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays) and only surrendered one earned run on five hits.

The Thunder kick-off their opening home stand of the 2011 season with a match-up against the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) tonight at 7:05 PM.
