John Tolisano Doubles in 9th to Lift Fisher Cats to 3-2 Win over B-Mets

(Binghamton, NY)---John Tolisano doubled home two runs in the top of the ninth inning, rallying the New Hampshire Fisher Cats to a 3-2 win in the opener of a seven-game roadtrip on Thursday night in Binghamton.

Mike McDade (3-for-4) singled to start the ninth inning and moved to second on a balk. Ricardo Nanita came on to run for McDade. Craig Stansberry walked to put two runners on for Tolisano, who ripped a two-out double over the head of centerfielder Jesus Feliciano, plating Nanita and Stansberry.

Alan Farina came on in relief and worked around a double by Mike Fisher (3-for-4, 2 2B, RBI) in the bottom of the ninth inning to record his second save. Matt Daly (2-0) worked 1.2 innings in relief for the win. Ricky Brooks (0-1) took the loss for the Mets.

Binghamton (2-5) struck first in the bottom of the fifth inning. Raul Reyes walked and scored on a double by Fisher to make it 1-0.

The Fisher Cats (4-4) answered with a run in the top of the sixth inning. Adeiny Hechavarria singled and advanced to third on a failed pickoff attempt. Anthony Gose then singled to tie the game at 1-1.

B.J. LaMura started for the Fisher Cats, working the first five innings. He allowed three hits, walked two and struck out four.

Binghamton's Mark Cohoon had a strong outing, working the first seven innings, allowing only the unearned run on four hits. He could have picked up a win after the Mets took the lead in the seventh inning. Reyes singled and stole second, moving to third on a single by Fisher. He scored on a wild pitch to put the Mets up 2-1.

The Fisher Cats continue the series in Binghamton on Friday night. RHP Brad Holt (0-0, 0.00) is the scheduled starter for the Mets against New Hampshire RHP Chad Beck, who is slated to make his first Eastern League start. Game time is 7:05pm and radio coverage with Bob Lipman begins at 6:45 on the WGIR Fisher Cats Radio Network.
