Asheville Tourists News Release
Tyler Anderson made it look easy Tuesday night as he led the Tourists to a 6-3 victory at Fluor Field. Anderson pitched seven innings, allowed two runs, and scattered five hits while not issuing a single walk. Asheville's lefty forced 13 groundouts and the T's offense provided plenty of insurance.
In the top of the first inning, Asheville rallied with four runs on just two hits. Tyler Massey struck first when he came to the plate with runners at the corners. Massey lined a triple down the right field line plating two. Taylor Featherston then drew a walk and stole second. Two wild pitches allowed both Massey and Featherston to cross the plate.
In the third, Asheville tacked on one more when Jared Simon roped an RBI double to left. The game remained 5-0 until the seventh inning.
Henry Ramos finally did some damage against Asheville's starting pitcher. Ramos clubbed a two-run Home Run in the bottom of the seventh. Featherston answered immediately for Asheville with a Home Run of his own; a solo shot in the eighth.
Greenville managed an unearned run in the bottom of the eighth, but Nelson Gonzalez managed to close out the game without any problems.
The Tourists have won three straight and are looking to sweep the Drive with the series finale scheduled for Wednesday at 7:05pm.
