'Dads End First Half on the Road as All-Star Break Nears

HICKORY, NC- The Crawdads are wrapping up the first half of the season on the road this week, before the All-Star break starts on Monday, June 18. Hickory will have the second-most amount of representatives on the Northern Division Team with five Crawdads being selected to play in the 2012 SAL All-Star Game on Tuesday, June 19 in Charleston, South Carolina - INF Hanser Alberto, OF Chris Grayson, RHP Nick Martinez, RHP Phil Klein, and LHP Victor Payano. Additionally, INF Drew Robinson was named the SAL Player of the Week for June 4 - 10 on Monday!

The Crawdads are 34-29 this season and are currently in 3rd place in the Northern Division, 7.0 games behind the 1st-place Greensboro Grasshoppers.

'Dads Robinson named SAL Player of the Week!

The South Atlantic League announced on Monday that Hickory Crawdads 3B Drew Robinson has been named SAL Player of the Week for the week of June 4 - 10. It marks the second time this season that a Crawdad has won the weekly award, as 2B Rougned Odor was named Player of the Week for May 21-27 .

Robinson, 20, helped pace the 'Dads to a 4-3 record on the week by clubbing .440 (11-for-25) with one home run and five RBIs in the seven games. The Las Vegas, Nevada native added three doubles, one triple and nine runs scored. He also worked seven walks and compiled a .563 on-base percentage

PLAYER AND TEAM NOTES:

- The Crawdads are 30-5 when allowing five runs or less

-The Crawdads are 27-2 when leading after six innings

-INF Hanser Alberto and OF Chris Grayson will start for the Northern Division Team during the SAL All-Star Game

-Alberto is 2nd in the league with a .342 batting average

-Alberto leads the team with a .403 average (31-for-77) with 32 RBIs with runners in scoring position

-INF Drew Robinson has either driven in or scored the game-winning run in four of the Crawdads five walk-off wins this season

-Alberto is currently on a 10-game hitting streak, with 15 hits since June 1

-OF Chris Grayson leads the team with a .319 average (30-for-94) on the road

-C Kellin Deglan has thrown out a league-leading 41% of base stealers (23-for-56) this season

-RHP Phil Klein has held hitters to a .157 average (4-for-26) with runners in scoring position
