Anaheim Arsenal Takes Part In Franklin Elementary Healthy Family Awareness

Anaheim, Calif. - Arsenal head coach Reggie Geary along with forward Mario Boggan and Ejike Ugobaja yesterday spoke to students at Franklin Elementary School to help promote Franklin's Healthy Family Awareness celebration before engaging the students in basketball drills.

Geary, Boggan and Ugobaja spoke with students about the importance of education, exercise, and eating healthy.

Ugboaja, who grew up in the African country of Nigeria, spoke about basketball being secondary in his life and that education was always his primary goal. "For me, getting a college degree was first in my life. Basketball happened so fast, but growing up I always wanted to get my diploma first," Ugboaja told the students.

After speaking to the students, coach Geary and the Arsenal players ran ball handling drills with them and participated in one on one competition. Some of the Franklin staff even got in on the action as Ms. Susan Luna and Mr. M played a little one on one with Ms. Luna being the victor.

Back on the hardwood, the Arsenal will play their final two games of the season on the road. Anaheim will face the L.A. D-Fenders at Staples Center today, Friday, April 11. Tip off is at 3:30pm.
