Dakota's Carlos Powell led all scorers with 30 points to give the Wizards a 104-96 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants at the Memorial Coliseum.

Although the Mad Ants dominated the 2nd quarter of play to give them an 11 point lead at the half, the Wizards went on a 19-3 just three minutes into the third to tighten the game up. The Wizards took advantage of the Mad Ants dismal 29% shooting performance in the final 12 minutes of play to outscore the Mad Ants 28-18 and give them the victory.

The Wizards starting big men consisting of Powell, Kevin Lyde, and Rod Benson dominated the Mad Ants in the paint by scoring a combined 73 points and out rebounding the Mad Ants 53-22. Lyde and Benson pulled down 14 boards a piece and scored 26 and 17 points respecitvely. Fort Wayne's very own Andre Patterson Jr. came off the bench for the Wizards to score 10 points with 8 rebounds.

The Mad Ants were led by Dahntay Jones who scored 23 points. Rod Wilmont came off the bench strong and scored 11 of his 17 points in the second quarter including two crowd pleasing dunks. Also coming off the bench strong for the Mad Ants was forward James Peters who scored 20 points with 3 blocked shots.

The Mad Ants (17-32) and the Wizards (29-21) will meet on last time tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. at the Memorial Coliseum for the Mad Ants final game of the season. The Wizards will also be playing for a play-off spot as they currently tied with Sioux Falls for 1st place of the Central Division.
