
Americans to Wrap up Season Series with Winterhawks

The Americans will meet tonight for the final time this season, wrapping up a 12-game season series.
Tri-City is 3-8-0-0 against Portland so far this season with two of their wins coming in a shootout. All three victories have came with a different Americans goaltender in net. Tomas Suchanek is the only goalie to play for the Americans this year without a win against Portland.
The Ams will look to snap a four-game losing streak with a victory over the Winterhawks, who come into tonight's game on four-game winning streak.
The Americans most recently played last Friday as they fell to the Silvertips 5-2 in Everett. Deagan McMillan opened scoring with his third career goal 12:54 into the game. Chase Friedt-Mohr added Tri-City's second goal in the second period to give the Ams a 2-1 lead. The Silvertips followed with three straight second period goals to take a 4-2 lead in to the final frame and added an empty net goal with seconds remaining.
Tomas Suchanek stopped 41 0f 45 shots before being relieved by Nick Avakyan midway through the third period. Avakyan finished the period stopping all four shots faced.
Tri-City will wrap up the regular season with three home games this week. After tonight's game the Americans will play a pair of games at the Toyota Center on Friday and Saturday.
