
Merrek Arpin Signs with Tri-City

KENNEWICK, WA -Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the team has signed 15-year-old defenseman Merrek Arpin to a WHL Standard Player Agreement. Arpin was selected 49th overall by Tri-City in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
The six-foot-three and 175-pound defenseman, a native of East St. Paul, Man., played the 2021-22 season with Rink Hockey Academy Winnipeg U18. In 26 games played this season, Arpin collected 21 points (seven goals, 12 assists) and 34 penalty minutes.
"Merrek is a highly skilled offensive defenseman with excellent skating ability," stated Tory. "He has also shown leadership qualities on his previous teams.
"We are excited that Merrek and his family have chosen the Americans for his hockey development moving forward."
Arpin is the fourth 2006-born player to sign with the Americans. Jordan Gavin, Eric Kahl, and Camerin Cardona have also signed with the team.
The Americans will wrap up the 2021-22 season with games at the Toyota Center on Friday vs. Seattle and Saturday vs. Everett.
