Americans Costello Takes ECHL Scoring Title

Allen, Texas - The ECHL announced on Monday that Allen Americans forward, Chad Costello has won the ECHL Scoring Title in his first season with Allen.

Costello signed with the Americans in the off-season, bouncing back to win the scoring title after spending most of last season out with an upper body injury.

Costello had 41 goals and 84 assists, for 125 points in 72 games. He broke the Americans' single season record this year for points, assists, power play assists, and plus-minus. He was named ECHL Player of the Week two times during this season, as well as Player of the Month and Plus Performer of the Month. Last week he was given the Sportsmanship Award for the first time in his career.

"I play with some great players and they deserve much of the credit for this award," said Costello. "We are all ready to get the playoffs underway tomorrow night."

The Americans open the playoffs at home this week with Game 1 of the Kelly Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm . Game 2 is Wednesday night at 7:05 pm . Tickets for all home playoff games are on sale NOW at www.ticketmaster.com or call 972-912-1000 .
