Winnipeg 10, Kansas City 4

The Winnipeg Goldeyes scored three runs in the first inning to take a 3-0 lead and would cruise from there to a 10-4 win over the Kansas City T-Bones. Goldeyes DH Jon Weber and 3B Louis Ott each collected three hits and scored two runs while SS Wes Long added his second home run of the season. Winnipeg starting pitcher Luis Villarreal improved to a perfect 5-0 on the season with the victory. Villarreal tossed six innings allowing an earned run on six hits with three strikeouts. For Kansas City in the loss, SS Jimmy Mojica and DH Ray Sadler each had three hits.

Wichita 6, El Paso 5

The Wichita Wingnuts held off a late El Paso rally to defeat the Diablos 6-5. Wingnuts LF Mike Conroy and 2B Jose Duran each had three hits while DH Josh Workman collected two hits, scored two runs and drove in one. Wichita starter Chad Sherman won his first game of the season after allowing three earned runs on eight hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. El Paso DH Kyle Nichols hit his ninth home run of the season in defeat.

St. Paul 8, Fargo-Moorhead 0

St. Paul starting pitcher Donald Brandt was sensational in the Saints 8-0 win over Fargo-Moorhead. Brandt tossed 7 2/3 shutout innings allowing only two walks and three hits while fanning 10 batters. He is now 4-2 on the season with the victory. St. Paul 1B Ole Sheldon went 3-for-5 with a run scored and five RBIs while 3B Ronnie Bourquin and CF Jonathan Van Every each had two hits.
