Montreal, Apr. 28, 2005 - Montreal Alouettes Vice-President and General Manager Jim Popp and his team had another great day at today's CFL Draft.

As the Alouettes had no first-round selection, the team traded kicker Matt Kellett to the Ottawa Renegades for Laval Rouge et Or All-Star defensive back Matthieu Proulx. Then, with three selections in the second round, the Alouettes selected Saskatchewan fullback Jeff Piercy, Syracuse defensive back Thomas Whitfield and the Rouge et Or defensive back Philippe Gauthier.

« We are extremely pleased with our draft, » said Jim Popp. « We are confident that the players we have acquired can become impact players on our team in the next few years. »
