Allan McPherson Named CCM ECHL Player of the Month

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, proudly announced today that Allan McPherson has been named the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for February.

McPherson, 24, led the league with 17 points (eight goals, nine assists) in 11 games during the month of February. The second-year forward recorded at least one point in eight of his 11 games and finished with a +11 rating.

McPherson highlighted his stellar month with back-to-back four points games on February 7 at Manchester and February 9 at Adirondack. He earned his first career hat trick in the team's victory at Manchester. For his efforts, McPherson was named the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for February 1-7.

The Kinburn, Ontario native leads the Jackals with 18 goals and ranks second on the team with 39 points in 32 games this season. McPherson also leads the squad with a +20 rating and his 1.22 points-per-game mark is tops on the team. In addition, he has recorded one goal in 16 games with the Rochester Americans this season.

McPherson split his rookie campaign between Elmira and Rochester earning 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 24 games with the Jackals while adding eight points (three goals, five assists) in 44 games with the Americans.

Prior to turning pro, McPherson reached the 100-point club at Clarkson University, amassing 103 points (41 goals, 62 assists) in 150 games. He earned Clarkson's Bill Harrison Most Valuable Player honor as a junior and a senior.
