
Mallards Acquire Knackstedt from Greenville

MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards have acquired forward Jordan Knackstedt from the Greenville Swamp Rabbits in exchange for future considerations, the Mallards announced today.
Knackstedt, 27, has scored 12 goals and added 19 assists for 31 points in 45 games with Greenville this season.
Knackstedt returned to North America this year after spending last season and three of the last four campaigns in Europe. The 6' 3", 210-pound Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native last year skated in Russia for Rubin Tyumen and Saryarka Karaganda and in Germany for Kaufbeuren ESV. He has also played in Italy- for HC Bolzano, with home he won the Italian title in 2011-12, and for Milano Rossoblu in 2012-13- and in Sweden- for Tingsryds AIF in 2012-13. Prior to this season, Knackstedt last played on this side of the Atlantic in 2013-14 when he scored 19 goals and collected 32 assists for 51 points while piling up 101 penalty minutes in 69 games with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors and also saw action in one game with the American Hockey League's Abbotsford Heat.
The experienced Knackstedt, who was selected by the Boston Bruins in the seventh round of the 2007 National Hockey League Entry Draft with the one hundred eighty-ninth overall choice, has played a total of 210 AHL games over the course of his eight-year career. He has scored 38 goals and picked up 54 assists for 92 AHL points while suiting up for the Providence Bruins and Rochester Americans as well as the Heat.
Knackstedt spent five seasons in the Western Hockey League with first the Red Deer Rebels and then the Moose Jaw Warriors before turning professional.
The Mallards return to action on home ice tonight against the Utah Grizzlies. All Mallards Wednesday night home games this season face off at the special early start time of 6:35 p.m.
