
All-Star Coaching Staffs Announced

Sauget, IL - All-Star Game field managers Gera Alvarez (East Division - Oakland County Cruisers) and Mike Pinto (West Division - Southern Illinois Miners) have announced their coaching staffs for 2010 Frontier League All-Star Game, presented by Peoples National Bank.
Joining Alvarez on the East bench will be his pitching coach, Cory Domel, along with Windy City ThunderBolts' field manager Mike Kashirsky. Pinto will have his hitting coach Ralph Santana, pitching coach Bart Zeller, assistant coaches Ron Biga and John Lakin, and Gateway Grizzlies' field manager Phil Warren on his staff.
Cory Domel is in his third season as pitching coach for the Oakland County Cruisers/Midwest Sliders, and has the Cruisers currently third in the Frontier League for team ERA. Domel also serves as the pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida, and previously served as pitching coach for the University of Maine and for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots of the Alaska Baseball League.
Mike Kashirsky is in his first full season as field manager of the Windy City ThunderBolts. Kashirsky has been on Windy City's coaching staff since 2004, including serving as interim manager for the second half of the 2008 season and leading the ThunderBolts to their second consecutive Frontier League championship.
A former Frontier League All-Star, Ralph Santana is in his third season on the Miners' coaching staff and his first as hitting coach. Southern Illinois currently leads the Frontier League in batting average, runs scored, hits, triples, and stolen bases. Santana played in the Milwaukee Brewers and Philadelphia Phillies farm systems along with in the Northern League, American Association, and Frontier League.
Bart Zeller has been on the coaching staff for the Miners since the team began play in 2007, and currently has Southern Illinois leading the Frontier League in ERA while issuing the fewest walks. As a player, Zeller spent seven seasons in the St. Louis Cardinals' organization, including spending the 1970 season as a player and coach in St. Louis.
Ron Biga has been on the staff in Southern Illinois since 2008 while 2010 is John Lakin's first season with the Miners. Biga and Lakin serve both as coaches and advance scouts for Southern Illinois.
Phil Warren is in his fourth season as field manager for the Gateway Grizzlies after a six-season playing career in the Frontier League. A former All-Star, Phil ranks in the Frontier League's career top-10 for games played, hits, home runs, and RBI and was a member of Gateway's 2003 championship team.
The 2010 Frontier League All-Star game, presented by Peoples National Bank, will take place at Rent One Park in Marion, Illinois, at 7:05 PM on Wednesday, July 14. The All-Star Game is the culmination of three days of activities at Rent One Park. The action begins on July 12 with a concert featuring Craig Morgan and Rodney Atkins. July 13 features the All-Star luncheon banquet and the Home Run Derby along with a Celebrity Softball Game that evening. Among the softball participants are former St. Louis Cardinals and current Fox Sports Midwest commentators Jack Clark and Al Hrabosky, both of whom will also be speaking at the banquet.
