Alex McClure Transferred to Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's contest with the Chattanooga Lookouts at Bragan Field.

Infielder Alex McClure has been transferred to Jacksonville from Single-A Greensboro. McClure, who was acquired by the Marlins in a trade with the Kansas City Royals organization on July 21, recorded a .185 average (5-27) and two RBI in eight games with the Grasshoppers. Prior the trade, the 24-year-old accumulated a .222 average (55-248) with 17 RBI in 74 games between High-A Wilmington and Double-A Northwest Arkansas this year.

In a corresponding move, infielder Noah Perio has been transferred to High-A Jupiter from Jacksonville. In 57 games with the Suns this year, the 21-year-old recorded a .232 clip (41-177), adding a homer and 14 RBI.

In addition, right-handed starter Matt Neil has been reinstated from the suspended list. Neil had been suspended for Wednesday's game stemming from his ejection during his start on July 26 at Montgomery.
