SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Alex Leavitt and Ryan Ramsay each had four points and Joe Talbot added three as Alaska capped a perfect 4-0 week with a 6-3 decision over San Diego in front of 3,458 Sunday at the ipayone Center.

Leavitt extended his streak to 10 consecutive games with at least a point by opening the scoring with his seventh goal of the year at 3:22 of the first period, a wrist shot from the right circle that sailed by ex-Aces goaltender Tom Lawson. San Diego tied the game 1-1 four minutes later when Alaska surrendered just its third shorthanded goal of the year, a breakaway converted by Richard Keyes. But the Aces regrouped on a subsequent power play, and Talbot scored off the rush, with assists from Ramsay and Leavitt, to regain a 2-1 edge with 3:45 left in the period.

The power play continued to propel Alaska in the second period, as Leavitt fed Ramsay for a tap-in on the man advantage to extend the lead to 3-1 at the 3:30 mark. 22 seconds later, defenseman Patrick Wellar stickhandled through a pair of Gulls and slid a backhander past Lawson for a 4-1 bulge. Ramsay and Mike Scott hooked up with Talbot for a beautiful tic-tac-toe goal at 5:09. Talbot's goal marked his second of the night and his seventh in 10 games since returning to the lineup following off-season surgery. Leavitt capped the four-goal onslaught with his second of the night at 7:37, Alaska's third power play goal of the evening and 15th over its last six games.

Trailing 6-1, San Diego made the score more respectable with a pair of goals in the final period. Steve Hildenbrand scored at even strength at 1:43, and Jon Shockey's shorthanded goal with 6:30 left in the game accounted for the final margin.

The Aces, 25-4-3 overall and just two points behind West Division leader Las Vegas with three games in hand, take a seven-hour bus ride to Phoenix tomorrow and open a stretch of three straight games against the last-place Roadrunners Tuesday at 5:11 p.m. AST. The series continues with two more games at the US Airways Center Wednesday and Friday, with both tilts scheduled for a 5:11 p.m. AST start.

All Alaska Aces games, home and away, are broadcast live on KFQD AM 750 and at www.alaskaaces.com. In addition, all home games and selected road contests will be available on a pay-per-view basis on the internet, courtesy of B2 Networks.
