Trenton Thunder News Release

(Portland, ME) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that RHP Alan Horne has been activated from the Disabled List. In a corresponding move, LHP Wilkins Arias has been placed on the 7-Day Disabled List. The transactions leave the Trenton 24-man active roster at one below its maximum.

Horne, the 2007 Eastern League "Pitcher of the Year" with the Thunder, is Wednesday night's scheduled starter for Trenton. Battling injuries for the past couple seasons, the righty will pitch in a game for the first time since August of 2009. Horne, who pitched in the College World Series with Florida in 2005, was 12-4 with a 3.11 earned run average with Trenton in 2007. He also briefly appeared in five games with Trenton in 2009.

The Thunder take on the Portland Sea Dogs on Wednesday night when game two of the three-game set takes place at Hadlock Field in Portland, Maine. Portland will counter with RHP Alex Wilson (5-4, 3.16) to oppose Trenton's Horne. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR-FM and on trentonthunder.com. The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM.
