Akron Aeros Outfielder Tim Fedroff Named Eastern League Player of the Month for May

AKRON, OH - The Eastern League today announced that Akron Aeros outfielder Tim Fedroff has been named Eastern League Player of the Month for the month of May.

The 24 year-old Flagtown, New Jersey native led the Eastern League in batting for the month hitting at a .412 clip (42-for-102) with eight doubles, two triples, 20 RBI, 18 runs scored, 10 walks and four stolen bases in 26 games. Fedroff also led the Eastern League in hits (42) and on-base percentage (.465) in May. During the month, he finished tied for fourth in the league in OPS (.994), tied for fifth in RBI (20), tied for seventh in triples (two), tied for eighth in runs scored (18) and tied for 10th in total bases (54).

The 5'11, 220 lb. outfielder hit in a league-best 20 straight games during the month spanning from May 4-27. During the streak, Fedroff hit .468 (36-for77) with eight doubles, two triples, 18 RBI and 16 runs scored. The 20-game hitting streak is tied for third longest in franchise history with former Aeros infielder Ryan Mulhern, who hit in 20 straight games from July 22-August 18, 2005.

Fedroff has hit safely in 28 of his last 29 games dating back to May 4 and in 37 of his last 42 games dating back to April 19.

In 52 games in 2011, Fedroff leads the Eastern League in batting (.362) and hits (71), is third in on-base percentage (.412) and is tied for eighth in RBI (30).
