
Ak-Sar-Ben Knights pick up goalie

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights announced today that they have received goaltender Curtis McElhinney from the Calgary Flames, their National Hockey League affiliate. McElhinney is expected to join the team in time for its preseason game against the Iowa Stars on Thursday, September 29th at the Civic Auditorium at 7:00 p.m.
McElhinney is in his first professional season. He recently finished a four-year college career at Colorado College, compiling a career record of 62-16-8 in 91 games. He had a career goals-against average of 2.32 and nine shutouts. The native of London, Ontario was Calgary's sixth choice, 176th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
Training camp continues on Wednesday when the split squad will scrimmage for an hour and a half at the Civic Auditorium. The remainder of the training camp schedule is below:

Tickets for the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' preseason home game and all regular season home games are on sale now at the Civic Auditorium box office weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and at all Ticketmaster outlets. All general admission tickets for the preseason game are just $10.
The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights begin their inaugural season in the American Hockey League on October 7th when they host the defending Western Conference Champions, the Chicago Wolves, at 7:00 p.m. at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.
