AJ Paterson Receives Call-Up from Grenada

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Bethlehem Steel FC announced today that defender AJ Paterson has received an international call-up for Grenada.

Paterson is set to join the team ahead of the nation's October 12th match in the CONCACAF Nations League qualification as Grenada plays against Cuba on October 12.

The call-up is Paterson's first of his career and an opportunity for the 22-year-old to represent his father's homeland.

"It's a great honor to receive an opportunity to represent Grenada," Paterson said. "My heritage has always been something that has set me apart and it's truly special to me and my family. My father has told us numerous stories of what the island was like and now getting the opportunity to play for the island is something I'll cherish."

Paterson joined Steel FC after a stellar collegiate career at Wright State where he earned Horizon League Player of the Year honors his senior season. Paterson made his professional debut as a starter for Steel FC against the Tampa Bay Rowdies on March 24.

Bethlehem Steel FC concludes its regular season against the Rowdies on Sunday, October 14. Kick off from Goodman Stadium on the campus of Lehigh University is scheduled for 3 p.m.
