
USL Discipline Report - Week 31
October 9, 2018 - United Soccer League Championship (USL) News Release
TAMPA, Fla. - The following is the USL's discipline report for Week 31 of the 2018 United Soccer League season:
The New York Red Bulls II's Anatole Abang has been suspended for three games following his red card for unsportsmanlike behavior this past Saturday against North Carolina FC. Abang will be unavailable for New York's final two regular-season contests against Penn FC on Tuesday night and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Sunday evening, and a future game to be determined pending New York's final position in the Eastern Conference standings.
The Tampa Bay Rowdies' Daniel Vega has been suspended for one game following his red card for abusive language following the conclusion of this past Saturday's game with the Charlotte Independence. Vega will be unavailable for the Rowdies' final game of the regular season on Sunday against Bethlehem Steel FC.
Sacramento Republic FC's Cole Seiler has been suspended for one game following his red card for two cautions against the LA Galaxy II this past Saturday. Seiler will be unavailable for Republic FC's game this Saturday against Las Vegas Lights FC.
Seattle Sounders FC 2 Head Coach John Hutchinson and Real Monarchs SLC Assistant Coach David Horst have each been suspended for one game after being sent from the technical area in their club's recent contests against Orange County SC and OKC Energy FC respectively. Hutchinson will be unavailable for S2's contest on Wednesday against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, while Horst will be unavailable for the Monarchs' regular-season finale against Fresno FC this Saturday.
Louisville City FC's Paolo DelPiccolo and the LA Galaxy II's Adrian Vera have each been suspended for one game after receiving their fifth cautions of the season in the past week. DelPiccolo will be unavailable for Louisville's game on Tuesday night against North Carolina FC and Vera will be unavailable for the Galaxy II's game with the Swope Park Rangers on Sunday.
OKC Energy FC's Callum Ross and Seattle Sounders FC 2's Jesse Daley will serve a one-game suspension after being awarded their eighth cautions of the season in the past week. Ross will be unavailable for Energy FC's contest on Saturday night against Saint Louis FC and Daley will be unavailable for Seattle's game against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC on Wednesday.
ATL UTD 2's Andrew Kendall-Moullin and Andrew Wheeler-Ominu each served one-game suspensions in this past Sunday's game against the Charleston Battery. Wheeler-Ominu was shown a red card for denying a goalscoring opportunity against the Tampa Bay Rowdies last Wednesday night, while Kendall-Moullin received his eighth caution of the season in the same contest.
Seattle Sounders FC 2's Tony Alfaro served a one-game suspension in this past Saturday's game against Orange County SC after receiving his fifth caution of the season last Wednesday night against the LA Galaxy II.
The Charlotte Independence's James Kiffe served a one-game suspension in this past Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rowdies following a review of his caution against Penn FC by the Independent Discipline Panel saw a suspension issued to the player.
Louisville City FC's Brian Ownby and Orange County SC's Kevin Alston are no longer on caution accumulation warning, having had one caution removed under the USL's Good Behavior incentive to place them on three cautions for the season.
The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension. A fifth caution in a club's final game of the regular season would result in a fine, however an accumulation caution would not result in a suspension in the Eastern or Western Conference Quarterfinals of the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs. The following players enter the upcoming matches one caution away from a yellow card accumulation suspension for receiving an 11th caution this season, which would result in a two-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Should a player receive his 11th caution in the club's penultimate or final game of the regular season a fine will be issued but a suspension will not carry into the 2018 USL Cup Playoffs.
