GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Texas AirHogs fell in the series finale vs. the Winnipeg Goldeyes 10-2 Wednesday afternoon at AirHogs Stadium.
Miguel Rosario (0-1) got the start for Texas a day after coming off the season-opening disabled list. He retired four straight before Winnipeg got to him for four hits, three walks and five runs (five earned) in the top of the second. Rosario was relieved by Liu Yu, who retired 10 of 11 batters in 3.1 innings of one-hit, scoreless ball.
The AirHogs struggled vs. Goldeyes starter Charle Rosario all day. Rosario finished with seven innings on the day. He limited the AirHogs to six hits and two 7th inning runs on RBIs by catcher Ryan Wagner and third baseman Chen Chen.
The Goldeyes (4-2) were led offensively by Grant Heyman, who finished with a double and a triple, and Josh Mazzola, who finished 2 for 4 with two doubles, three runs scored and three RBIs.
Right fielder Stewart Ijames enjoyed another productive day at the plate. He ran his hit streak to six straight games by going 2 for 3 with a double. Wagner and Ijames were the only AirHogs with multiple hits in the game.
The AirHogs stranded seven in the game, while the Goldeyes left ten. Winnipeg outhit Texas just 10-8 but benefitted from nine walks passed out by the AirHogs pitching staff.
